Journeying Further into Age of Conan DateTime:7/21/2009 11:56:42 AM
June 2, 2008 - It's been nearly two weeks since the U.S. launch of Funcom's Age of Conan and so far, as Funcom has been letting everyone know with its press releases, the game has done quite well. If you're a hardcore fan of online RPGs, you've likely already invested some time in this virtual version of Robert E. Howard's fiction, but if you're on the fence, here's another updated impressions piece before the full review rolls out in the near future.
Since the previous impressions piece I've built a bear shaman into his (level) 40s and tried out a few of the other classes and have to say that there's certainly an entertaining variety of play styles in the game. You can choose to build up the necromancer, who raises hosts of undead minions like the class of the same name in Diablo II; play as a purer spellcasting class like the tempest of set; test out bow combat with the ranger; or try your hand at the melee combat, which comes highly recommended. |
